Dunlee, a CT and X-ray components company acquired by Philips in 2001, has announced its departure from the replacement CT tube business to focus on its OEM product portfolio. This decision follows its earlier move, approximately six years ago, when Dunlee exited its Aurora, Illinois, manufacturing facility due to a significant decline in the replacement parts market. The facility was subsequently sold to Chronos Imaging LLC, which continued producing third-party replacement CT tubes under the Dunlee brand through a contract manufacturing agreement. With Dunlee's recent exit from the replacement market, Chronos Imaging's president, Pat Fitzgerald, sees this as an opportunity for growth and aims to inform customers about the implications of these changes. Is my CT tube arcing? 
 
When troubleshooting high voltage arcing on various GE scanners, the use of dummy plugs during No Load kV testing is beneficial. Isolating the tube from the HV chain is only part of the troubleshooting and can lead to an erroneous diagnosis if a thorough evaluation is not done on the rest of the HV circuit. When dummy plugs are inserted into the HV tanks, this allows for the gantry to be manually rotated or tilted. The manual rotation or tilting of the gantry may help to identify the source of arcing at higher kV and time settings.
